Bee Control & Relocation Treatment
Swarm Collection
If honeybees have swarmed and are resting in an accessible location (like a tree branch or fence), our specialists can safely collect the swarm in a specialized box and relocate it.
Structural Extraction
If bees have nested inside a wall or chimney, we can perform a careful structural extraction, removing the honeycomb, the queen, and the colony to prevent structural damage.
Exclusion and Proofing
Once a nest is relocated (or naturally dies off in winter), we seal entry points and clean the area to ensure a new swarm doesn't smell the old wax and return next year.
Advice on Dealing with Bee Control & Relocation
Leave swarms alone
A swarm of honeybees is usually just resting while scout bees look for a new home. They are rarely aggressive when swarming. Do not throw water or objects at them.
Identify the type of bee
Bumblebees are large and furry and rarely sting. Honeybees are smaller and swarm in large numbers. Mason bees are solitary and harmless. Knowing the type helps us respond correctly.
Do not seal the entrance
If bees are entering a wall cavity, never block the hole. The bees will become trapped and may chew their way through your plasterboard into your living room.
What They Can Do to Your Property
Sting Risks
While generally docile, bees will defend their nest aggressively if disturbed. This poses a severe risk to children, pets, and anyone with a bee sting allergy (anaphylaxis).
Structural Staining
A honeybee nest contains honey and wax. If the colony dies or is killed, the unattended wax can melt, seeping through plasterboard and permanently staining ceilings and walls.
Attracting Secondary Pests
Abandoned honeycomb will attract other pests, including ants, wasps, and carpet beetles, creating a secondary infestation in your property.
